At CES 2026, Lenovo showcased an array of new products and proofs of concepts for the new year. The showcase included products for productivity, gaming and commercial use. Here, we will go over some of our favorite items unveiled at the show. First, let’s start off with their proofs of concepts.
Lenovo ThinkPad Rollable XD Proof of Concept

One the proofs of concepts came in the form of the Lenovo ThinkPad Rollable XD. Here you have a laptop with a screen that stretches from front to back, across the laptop’s cover. When you engage the touch controls on the top of the screen, the screen proceeds to expand upward, pulling the cover-side portion of the screen over to the front. Just like that, one could have a traditional clam-shell style laptop with even more screen real estate than laptops matching its size when closed.

When the screen is collapsed, the cover-side screen can be used to display various widgets and information, allowing the laptop to work nicely as a presentation tool, amongst other use cases.
Lenovo Legion Pro Rollable Proof of Concept

If you were curious to see how a rollable display could work as a gaming solution, then you are in luck with this next proof of concept. The Lenovo Legion Pro Rollable is a 16-inch gaming laptop featuring a screen that can expand to a 21.5-inch as well as a 23.8-inch display. Using the function key in tandem with the left and right arrow keys, this laptop’s display can toggle between the three screen sizes.

This POC model weighs less than 3kg and would feature processor options going up to the Intel Core Ultra 9 and graphics topping off with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090. Diving deeper into the display itself, this display would reach up to a 240Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and a 95% DCI-P3 color presentation. The durability of the screen is expected to top off at 25,000 roll cycles.

The idea of having a portable gaming solution that gives you a 23-inch display while still fitting in your average sized backpack is enticing. The display itself is motorized, expanding and contracting as you press the appropriate key combinations. The proof-of-concept model swapped between the various screen sizes fast enough. However, the internal motors that powered that function were noticeably noisy. Nevertheless, the function itself was quite impressive to see in person. One would think that Lenovo would find a way to make the feature work more gracefully should this end up as a real product down the road.
It is always fun to check out proofs of concepts as they always have the potential to become full-fledged products. That, of course, leads us to the next product that caught our eye…
Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 7 Auto Twist

Started as a Lenovo proof of concept, the Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 7 Auto Twist is now a tangible reality. This laptop sports a motorized dual-rotation hinge that automatically adjusts to various usage modes and angles. The motorized hinge can be activated using gentle knocks, which triggers the laptop to open up from either closed or tablet-mode states.

Using the imbedded camera, the screen can also auto track the user, allowing them to stay centered in frame during recordings or video calls. This feature looks to work very nicely for remote presenters that need to move around as they speak.

Further enhancing the Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 7 Auto Twist will be the new SMB Vertical AI Solution, a suite of AI-enabled applications. These features include productivity tools such as content creation enhancement, meeting transcriptions, and multilingual captioning. During our demo of the Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 7 Auto Twist, we got the chance to experience the beta of an AI assistant buddy. The laptop sat between the presenter and me, acting as a translator between Chinese and English. The screen automatically turned to each of us, telling each of us what the other person said, both verbally and with captions. It was a nice little touch to just one of the many functions that this ThinkBook looks to bring to the table.

The Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 7 Auto Twist will be available starting June 2026, with pricing starting at $1,649.
